How Google Uses Latent Semantic Indexing
Most people who have used the Internet, or even know what it is know what Google is. But most people don’t know what exactly it is that Google does.
Or rather what makes Google do what it does. Google searches are able to be so accurate because of Latent Semantic Indexing.
Latent Semantic Indexing allows a search engine to determine what a page is about by searching for one or more keywords selected by the user.
It adds an important step to the document index process. LSI records keywords that a document contains as well as examines the document collection as a whole.
By placing importance on related words, or words in similar positions, LSA has a net effect of making the value of pages lower so they only match specific terms.
Search engines such as Google try to figure out phrase relationships when they are processing keyword queries, which in turn improve the rankings of pages with related phrases.
This happens even when those pages are not focused on the target theme. Some pages are too focused on one phrase and they tend to rank worse than you would expect them to.
In fact, some are even filtered out for being too over optimized. Pages that are focused on a wider net of related keywords tend to have more stable rankings.
Although the LSI algorithm doesn’t understand anything about what the words mean, the patterns it notices make the search engine look extremely intelligent.
So you can see why it is important to have content that follows the system one of the BIGGEST search engines on the PLANET use!
Thus the reason why I use an article service which provides you with PLR conforming to the LSI structure.

Hi
Nice article define on LSI. I have got some idea how Google SE works and it really helps on doing to make it easy for Google to index the website. I believe indexing should be happened naturally.
If you are still active here, I like to ask you a question as I am little new to this.
Someone told me its not great idea to submit website to google in order to get indexed. Google should find the site naturally.
But does it really matters? Whether naturally or by submitting?
Does it have any effect in rankings?
Thanks in advance.

Latent semantic indexing is you can say theme of the overall site not only a page and if we can maintain that then google will definitely give importance to it. It the content is relevant and focus then our goal is clear in eyes of goolge

I’ve read that Google isn’t actually using LSI… And that even if it is, isn’t it best to just write articles using natural wording? I think keywords are basically just important for titles. Put it in the title and then at least once in your article/blog post/website and go from there. I think worrying about keywords in articles is a bad idea - in the long run articles written for humans are best.

In my humble opinion, LSI is just an added patch to make Google be more efficient and effective in its ranking algorithm. It is not the main ingredient for ranking high in the SERPs.
I still believe that building links using the main keywords and its long tails are the significant variables.
Does anyone agree?

I think the whole point in LSI is so that Google can determine a genuine expert. I’m not an expert on most of the things I write about yet I know how to use as many LSI words as possible so that Google thinks that I’m an expert. The whole idea is pretty flawed really.
