What do Spaghetti Westerns and Internet Marketing have in common?

January 24th, 2008

When I was a kid (some may say I still act like one sometimes) I remember sitting down with my Dad on a Sunday afternoon to watch old Western movies, some of them were even the now famous “Spaghetti Westerns”. To this day I still like to watch one now and then, probably to remember the days spent with Dad. I used to imagine living in that time when people carried guns, but didn’t go round shooting everyone. People often referred to it as the “Wild West” of the 19th Century. In some ways, the Internet World is the “Wild West” of the 20th Century and “there’s Gold in them thar Hills!”

** WARNING - This video has no relevance to the article, it’s the movie trailer to one of the movies my Dad and I loved watching together.
A Fist Full Of Dollars.

Biggest problem with this “Gold Rush” is that changes come a lot faster than they did in the “Old Days”, but that doesn’t mean you’re too late, or need to worry about being left behind because it’s still early days yet. In fact, Social Networks are exploding across the World Wide Web faster than you can say “Draw!” Web logs (or Blogs as they are know now) and Social Networking sites are interconnecting people, information and commerce quicker than the “bush telegraph”.

Good and Bad News travels with lightning speed to all corners of the Planet. Now with video and audio becoming easier for people to download through the Internet, information is becoming easier to share. YouTube is a perfect example of how, through the sharing of videos for free, they created a business undreamed of by the owners: Google paid $1.65 Billion to won it.

There still remains the means to make an income using the Internet: web sites, blogs, affiliate programs, classified advertising, auction sites, membership sites, web hosting, tech support, article marketing, and the list goes on. There are literally thousands, if not millions of ways someone can use the Internet and make a comfortable living. All you need to know is that such things ARE not only possible, they are ACTIONABLE!

You aren’t restricted to the confines of the Online World either, these same methods can be applied to more traditional methods of doing business, and in some cases even enhance them. The Internet simply opens your product or service to a worldwide market, rather than being limited to newspapers, broadcast radio and television, postal services, and word of mouth. Even if you don’t already know how to target a group of “hungry” buyers, there is a World full of skilled people willing to help, and not all of them cost you and arm and a leg.

I recently had a problem fixed in my Wordpress blog which only cost US$50, my time alone is worth a lot more than this so I was more than happy to pay, and the job was completed with added service I didn’t request. Talk about having efficient and cost effective contractors, some companies would pay MUCH more than $50 an hour for work this efficient.

You could use your time and go about acquiring the skill and knowledge necessary to make money online yourself. This can be quite simple, but it can be difficult at times. The most difficult task I found was sifting through all the “Get Rich Quick” ideas and promises. Real businesses (and that’s what we’re building here right?), need methods and procedures mixed with a little caution and patience. Guidance from friends or trusted people you meet online is also needed; otherwise you could waste a lot of your time and money searching for the correct answers, and sometimes the right questions.

People of the World to the Rescue!

Social networking sites, discussion forums, interest groups and blogs have burst into nearly every area of interest and curiosity on the Planet. Type “internet marketing” and add “group”, “forum”, or “blog” into a search engine and you will find thousands, even millions of real people and their opinions on these subjects.

Want to know if some “Guru” has the golden key to instant success? You can ask in forums or search for discussions on that person’s name. You’ll find hundreds of people ready to voice their opinions, experience and advice. Be careful though, some of this advise should be “taken with a grain of salt”. Careful research will help you with your decision.

In the recent times, it appeared as though the Internet was becoming a place where the flood of information threatened to drown valuable knowledge. Once again it’s people to the rescue, with real people filtering the different topics or “niches” they know well, it’s become a manageable flood. “Authority” sites have become the source for finding what information is real. Yes.. there’s always a “BUT”, and here it is… BUT, discovering who’s a real authority and who’s not requires common sense and a feel for the “ring of truth” in what’s being said.

So what do Spaghetti Westerns and Internet Marketing have in common?

There are Fists Full Of Dollars out there, just keep an eye out for the bad guys!

If you like what I post on my blog and you would like me to post more, could you grab me a coffee to help stay awake? A coffee usually costs $3, but everything helps :)

Yes, it’s not a general rule that authority sites, what they have said really works and those who ranked low are nothing but a crap. Our discretion is the most valid of all.

A few Simple Tips For website customization to make a proffesional looking page that produces sales. Color Scheme and Theme always choose matching colors, and example would be a dark background with visible words and designs, with a dark theme try not to mix too many bright colors into the design. What we should never do is mix colors like purple and yellow that is if you want a proffesional looking website personal websites do what you want. The Theme of the Website should match the company of organization if you have a website that was made to cater for a food company, it would be wise to stick with that category, rather than changing to a different theme like machinery. Your fonts should be used in regard to the formality of the website, a simple sans-serif of tahoma would suffice in most cases. There are always exceptions like if your website is for design or art groups you may want to use more fanciful designs and fonts.
I know this all sounds like pretty general stuff and guess what it is! Making a Proffesional looking website is not hard but us internet marketers sometimes make it more difficult than it has to be becasue we want it to be perfect. The simple truth is it doesn’t matter what you want it matters what your target market wants and if you don;t give it to them someone else will. Before I had any sucess my thoughts were always about what I like and dont like and what I can afford and not afford. When I was thinking like that I never made a nickle, when my thinking changed so did the size of my bank account it slowly started growing as I slowly started changing.
