One of the most common questions I have been receiving lately is:

“Should I use a free blog service or host my own, if I host my own why Wordpress?”

Wordpress and other blog platforms have certainly become a hot topic these days, especially with all the programs available to make use of them as an income source. One company, PLRPro, have based their whole business building plan around Wordpress.

So, with all the questions and interest in Blogs I thought is was time I lifted the curtains and shared the top 10 reasons why you should host your own blog like Wordpress, instead of using free services like blogger, xanga or many others out there.

The first thing you have to keep in mind is that anything given for FREE in most cases will have a reason behind it. When I first started blogging I used blogger, but I soon realised there was a lot missing and I didn’t have the personal control over my site like I should. Also, because of all the SPAM blogs being created Blogger started deleting blog left, right and centre and even legitimate blogs were deleted which really got me worrying. That is when I turned to Wordpress and have been happily using it ever since.

Now if you are new to the whole blogging scene and have never heard of Wordpress I’ll give a quick description. Wordpress is free open source software available at www.Wordpress.org or usually through your cPanel/Fantastico interface of your hosting service. If what I just said seemed like another language then I suggest you read my other article on cPanel and Fantastico and how I finally understood what it all meant.

10 Reasons You Should Host Your Own Blog

Let’s get started with reason number 1.

1. Extremely User Friendly
The best thing I like about Wordpress is it’s like a word processor to use, so there is no need to be scared thinking you have to do web site building. Once you have Wordpress installed all you need to do is click on Write in the menu bar and then decide if you are writing a Post or a Page. Once you have finished writing you simply Publish your work and you’re done.
