It’s been another great month for business and active membership is at an all time high. Thank you.

A few things have changed in some markets and so have my short term forecasts so I’m putting that section of this newsletter first.

* * *

THE MARKETS

US Stocks – Bear market rally has continued longer than I guessed it would but that does not change the long term outlook. Although the market could start down at any time my short term indicators suggest US Stocks will make one more new high and then start down. When the topping process is done the major trend down will resume. Upside potential, if any, is tiny. Downside potential remains historic. Long term trend down though 2012 – 2016.

US Dollar – The initial move of the USD rally appears to be over. The short term trend now points down. The currencies that had been falling while the USD rallied the past four months will go up during the correction, such as the Euro. Intermediate term US Dollar trend remains up. This rally (now correcting) could last a year or so. Long term trend down, as is the case of all unbacked paper currencies since the beginning of history.

Interest Rates – Short and long term trends remain up. This means most bonds are losing value. Many will default. Stay short term. Just like all markets occasionally “take a break” in the trend, the rise in interest rates such as in the long bond likely has a little more to go before it has a correction. When you hear on the news how interest rates have been rising that might be a sign that the trend is about to reverse.

Precious Metals – Silver prices have remained in a narrow range for a while now. It feels like silver is about to pop a little higher from here. Long term trend is up.. At some point in the future I believe that paper currencies will have to convert to some type of precious metals backing. We want to be in silver BEFORE that happens.

Real Estate – Down.

The Economy – Down. Deflation will accelerate. Unemployment should ultimately double before this deflation ends.

“Last year, I observed silver’s past, or the time period covering thousands of years up until about 5 years ago. I tried to describe how silver was always a highly desired precious metal, valued for its beauty and value in jewellery and ornaments and as money, much like its fellow precious metal gold. And, starting 100 to 150 years ago, how silver evolved into a vital and strategic industrial commodity. This transformation of silver into a modern industrial material was predicated upon its physical and chemical properties. These properties included it being the best conductor of electricity, the best transfer agent of heat, the best reflector of light, the most efficient photographic chemical and the most versatile biocide. In fact, silver is used in more industrial applications than any other metal.

Because of the wide range of uses in which silver is the preferred ingredient, it began to be industrially consumed in prodigious quantities. So great was the industrial consumption of silver, that the world used more, starting around the beginning of World War II, than it could produce from mining and recycling. That over-consumption mandated that previously produced silver, in the form of world inventories, be consumed, in addition to mining and recycling. The net result was that over 60 or 70 years, the above ground inventories of silver were depleted by 90% or more. In other words, we have only 10% in world silver bullion inventories of what we had back 70 years ago. We had 10 billion ounces of silver bullion inventories then; now we have 1 billion ounces remaining.

At the same time, gold inventories grew dramatically over the past 70 years, as gold’s industrial consumption did not develop like silver’s did, mainly because gold was and is one of the most expensive materials in the world. It’s not that gold didn’t have its own special physical and chemical properties; it’s just that you don’t use an expensive material unless you have no other choice. The bottom line, silver’s inventories were used up; gold’s inventories grew

The net result of this was one of the most incredible situations ever witnessed in world history, namely, that a comparable commodity that was rarer than another commodity could be much cheaper than the more plentiful commodity. In above ground bullion inventories, gold is more plentiful than silver, yet silver is less than 1.5% the price of gold. Common sense should tell you that such a relationship is absurd and cannot last indefinitely. Investment sense should also tell you that price relationship is absurd and unlikely to last, creating the best reason to buy under priced silver.

Finally, despite the ease by which these relative gold/silver world inventory statistics can be verified, less than one-tenth of one percent of the world’s citizens are aware of the fact that silver is rarer than gold. I would guess that a good percent of those who do know, are in this room today.”

So . . . . if you knew something that only “one-tenth of one percent of the world’s citizens are aware of – the fact that silver is rarer than gold” wouldn’t it be a good idea to be in a business that should benefit as more people learn about silver? Especially since it already is.

It’s been a busy month. Thank you for your continued support. Last month I mentioned how the silver business continues to increase. I’m sending out more and more silver Eagles to members.

And to new members who didn’t see what I wrote:

That’s because business overall is up and the commission increase announced a couple months ago is generating more bonus coins to members. And in the past I’ve noticed more interest in silver during a similar stage in silver price action.

Please keep a long term perspective on silver in case my main forecast of Deflation Ahead comes true. The good part, if there is any good part of deflation, is you have more time to promote your site and accumulate silver. Every coin adds up. You get paid on EVERY coin sold. Any “half coin” in commission is rolled forward to the next month so every sale counts.

Back to this month – all that remains true.

What’s ironic is that last month’s newsletter had an article entitled THE silver SHORTAGE WILL COME. What I didn’t expect is that after the US Mint stopped production of silver Eagles, like they do every year to change the presses, and then some of the new 2010s came out in January, that there would be a second almost 1 month drought of Eagles.

Even now there are 3 week delivery delays at some dealers, though others have them. I did get some 2010s and then a week later when none were around I was able to order some mixed dates, which will likely be mostly 2009s. So you could get either this month. If you are hoping to get a 2010 don’t worry as they’ll be mainly what I should be able to send out this year.

What happened is in early February the Mint went on vacation. I’m not sure for how long but there were hardly any new or backdated silver Eagles in stock at many dealers for most of February. There were some for sale but with future shipping dates. Dealers had very little in stock and what was in stock had much higher premiums than normal.

What I did is pay the higher prices when they were occasionally available. And more are being delivered to the large dealers toward the end of March so YouNeedSilver.com remains one of the most convenient ways to keep acquiring silver. It’s my job to do the shopping around for you. And about the fastest way to receive it as anyone looking for Silver Eagles the past 3 months has found out.

While I do expect that there will be enough Silver Eagles throughout this year, the fact that there are occasional shortages is just a small sign of what a true silver shortage would feel like. Even now I’m still seeing future delivery dates being advertised for Silver Eagles so supply remains very tight. And all this while the general public still has not caught silver fever.

THE MARKETS

US Stocks – Bear market rally has topped. Long term trend down though 2012 – 2016. First target is a decline to below the lows of last March. Eventual target is to below Dow 1000, possibly below Dow 500.

US Dollar – Near a short term peak. Intermediate term trend remains up. This rally could last a year or so. Long term trend down. This means that many other currencies will go down in value relative to the US Dollar such as the Euro and Australian Dollar. When “everyone” loves the US Dollar again that will be the time to expect the end game for it to resume. Right now, crazy as the term sounds, there is a dollar shortage. It’s still the means of exchange and people don’t have enough. The coming wave of debt defaults will take even more dollars out of the system, even faster than the Fed can add them. That’s deflationary.

I expect the Euro to eventually disappear as countries break away from the European Union. I expect more secessionist movements in the US. During happy times countries come together. During other times things go the other way. The world could look a lot different in 5 years.

Interest Rates – Short and long term trends remain up. This means most bonds will lose value. Many will default. Stay short term.

Precious Metals – As expected, Silver bounced higher last month and may have a little more to go. Short term trend down should resume. Long term trend is up. I consider corrections in metals a gift that gives us more time to accumulate silver while it’s still affordable. At some point in the future I believe that paper currencies will have to convert to some type of precious metals backing. We want to be in silver BEFORE that happens.

Real Estate – Down.

Some of you might have though I’d disappeared off the planet because I haven’t written anything here for nearly two months. Well there are two reasons for this, both deliberate.

Once again I received a nice shiny Silver Eagle in the mail this month, which brings my collection to a total of 12 (13 actually if you include the 2009 Koala Silver Coin that I purchased as well, looking forward to receiving my 2010 coin very soon).

The box I keep them in is starting to get quite heavy and I have to admit it feels really good picking it up and feeling the weight of the 99.9% pure silver, now totalling 12oz.

SSB NEWS – DECEMBER 1, 2009

Dear Ian,

It’s hard to stop a speeding silver bullet. Silver has been quietly rocketing ahead playing catch up with gold’s breakout to new all time highs.

Silver and gold could be quite volatile over the next month or two causing even more interest in silver and your SSB business.

Super News – Commissions Increase. Earn More Coins. You now get paid on EVERY coin sold. “Odd” coins roll forward starting this month. For example, if you have only one member buying one coin a month you will be paid “1/2 a coin”. I’ll do that by carrying forward that 1/2 coin commission to the next month so once two coins have been bought you will be paid a bonus coin. As another example, if you had 3 coins sold during a month then you’ll be paid the 1 coin bonus for 2 of the coins and the “odd” coin sale will be carried forward to the next month.  This will increase the bonus coin commissions for many members. Now it’s worth going out and getting that 1 extra sale. Or perhaps enrolling a family member so you can start earning bonus coins.

I let a member know about this change and here’s how they reacted:

Silver Eagles disappear overnight. Insta-shortage

The big news is silver shortages and especially Silver Eagle shortages have happened -  VIRTUALLY OVERNIGHT.

One example of this is that my favorite supplier usually has about 50 mint boxes (of 500) Silver Eagles in stock. In early November they had 80 boxes, and around mid November they had 120 boxes for a week or so . . . until I looked on “The Day The Silver Died” (November 23) and quite suddenly they were SOLD OUT of mint boxes. They had a few rolls left and I noticed that besides the price being higher because silver prices are way up, the premium (amount above spot price) had shot up by 35%. Again that was OVERNIGHT. And premiums keep rising. They are now up 47% and will likely keep going higher.

This likely means that a single larger buyer bought the entire inventory of 120 mint boxes overnight. At 500 coins a box that’s 60,000 ounces of silver instantly “off the market”. Someone decided to spend over a million dollars and it wiped out the whole supply or new boxes.

That supplier sent out a notice that said:

At this time the US Mint is out of 2009 American Silver Eagles.

The US Mint has delayed release of the 2010 American Silver Eagle indefinitely.

As I check their supplies right now before publishing this newsletter on Dec 1 they are completely sold out of all Silver Eagles. Should supplies remain non-existent for another couple weeks I may have to substitute a different 1 ounce coin but I’ll try to avoid that if I can.

At another supplier I use a lot they had a notice up that said:

*2009* Silver American Eagles
US Mint Sold Out!  . . very limited supply .

And a few days later there was this:

Currently Out of Stock

And they are one of the largest dealers.

From the Financial Times:

“The US Mint has depleted its current inventory of 2009 American Eagles one-ounce bullion coins due to the continued strong demand,” the mint said in a statement late on Wednesday. It added that selling will resume “once sufficient inventories . . . can be acquired to meet market demand”.

And from a coin dealer:

Silver Eagles are Vanishing!

“Shortages in physical gold and silver inventories are beginning to take place again.

The US Mint has broken records this year in the amount of bullion coins they have struck and they still cannot fulfil the public’s demand for American bullion coins.

Remember gold and silver are stores of value with limited quantity while paper currencies and credit can be expanded infinitely.  It takes relatively very little currency and credit buying precious metals for precious metal products to disappear and prices to explode- as happened last autumn in the physical gold and silver market. A large divergence happened between the spot (or futures) price of the metals and actual metal you could hold in your hand as the metal became scarce.

Now and in the coming years we fully expect shortages of gold and silver products to become the rule not the exception.  You have the opportunity of a lifetime.  Are you going to take action?”

So I’ll continue to “keep the silver coming to you” but between the high price of silver and the high premiums over spot caused by the Silver Eagle shortage these in demand coins are going up in value.

The reason we all like silver is that we expected that the price would rise so I suppose it’s good that prices are going up. I’m still hoping that we get one more chance to accumulate silver at lower prices over the next year or two.

I see two possible scenarios.

Either metals will make an intermediate term top over the near term and then have a longer term correction before the “real” transfer of wealth main event begins as paper currencies collapse. . Or the real move up started a year ago is about to accelerate.

By the way, the very best time to promote Silver Snowball is when silver is rapidly rising and it starts getting hard to find. That’s right now. There’s no rush like a gold/silver rush.

I absolutely believe we are in the right business for these uncertain economic times. And there’s nothing like a silver shortage to make people want silver even more. Thank you for being a valued Silver Snowball member. I look forward to continuing to send you Silver Eagles.

I’ve used a lot of different affiliate marketing methods and find one of them to be the most effective.

Article marketing is cool, except the article directory gets to keep all the ad revenue and they are getting more particular about what articles they accept.

Review sites are OK, but does anyone really trust the reviews they read on those sites any more? Most people know by now that review sites are just disguised sales pitches and aren’t honest reviews.

Social media is fun, but it has its limits. It’s more about socializing, less about doing business. Sure, you can make connections there but at the end of the day the lion’s share of your profits likely isn’t coming from social media.

Social media sites are not the most important place on the web.

So what is?

Your own blog. In my opinion, there’s nothing like having your own blog, especially if you use WordPress. WordPress makes blogging much easier and more effective.

Your blog is your castle. YOU get to decide which content to put on it and don’t have to wait a week for someone else to approve it. YOU get to keep your ad revenue. If you use Google Adsense, however, chances are it’s more like Google Adcents. And don’t get me started on Google slaps.

That’s why it’s more effective to promote affiliate products on your blog rather than rely on Adsense. Affiliate commissions have a much higher payout than ad clicks.

One option is to have a “blog sponsor” section in your sidebar. Place ads here (preferably with eye-catching graphics rather than just text) that link to select affiliate products and also your own products if you have any.

Another option is to occasionally write a blog post that promotes an affiliate product. The posts should contain solid content in addition to the sales pitch. Write the post as if you were talking to a friend so that it doesn’t come across as too sales-y.

Don’t forget to have an opt-in form on your blog so that you can collect the email addresses of your blog readers. You can occasionally promote affiliate products through email to your list. You should also send out emails that contain helpful, engaging content. You can use your blog posts as content but you should also use original content in your emails too. Mix it up.

There’s one type of text ad that I highly recommend and that’s WordPress Affiliate plugin that automatically inserts professional-looking ads for Clickbank products on your blog.

With all the buzz about self-branding, viral marketing and social networking, it can seem like being highly visible is the way to go, no matter what you may prefer. That’s where a hard look at your core competence and goals will help you decide if you want to follow the pack or keep a low profile in the IM marketplace. There are advantages and disadvantages to both approaches, depending on your personal style and preferred method of working.

Folks who are solitary by nature, don’t need a great deal of social interaction and prefer staying out of the limelight can use “low visibility” to their advantage. By being hard to get and booked in advance, you will create a perception of your value that will keep you in as much work as you desire. Getting started may take time and effort beyond that of someone else who has a much higher profile. Making the move into other areas of the IM marketplace can be easier if you are not highly identified with one, particular niche, too.

Social butterflies, who thrive on interacting with others, will get more out of being “high profile” businesses. Aside from the emotional satisfaction of connecting with a large body of customers and contacts, the potential for large returns is often easier to achieve with broad exposure. Becoming widely known and highly visible will help jumpstart a new business into profitability much sooner than the quiet approach. The problem with such a method of marketing is becoming “typecast” or pigeonholed into a particular niche that may become less profitable in time.

The decision to go with either approach begins with a serious look at yourself. In some cases, it will be easy to see which type you are by nature. For many, it will take some reflection and a willingness to ask for help. Self-knowledge can be the toughest knowledge to acquire. These so-called “gurus” don’t just make a name for themselves. They have a vision or dream that they build every day, in a way that is meant to turn a profit and make the world a better place.

No matter what your calling in life may be, make sure you remain true to who you are, inside. Take the time to find out what your real needs are and make your business an extension of your inner self. There’s nothing tougher than playing a role you don’t believe in. There’s nothing better than creating a business model that lets you be the best you can be. Make sure your choice in marketing and “branding” is the best fit for your future.

I usually don’t get too political on my blog, but I do like to present different perspectives on current affairs.

In just a few weeks at the Copenhagen Climate Conference, the Australian Government (and just about every other Government) is thinking to sign what could turn out to be an outrageous treaty that has not had any public debate. I would guess that most people have no idea of what the treaty is about; I didn’t!

Regardless of where you stand with the issue of climate change, this quite separate issue of having Australia sign a treaty that resulted in a New World Government, with powers superseding our own constitution, is both alarming and unacceptable. Especially where that New World Government is not democratically elected and can never be removed.

Perfect Traffic Storm is a new site that says it guarantees more CONVERTING web visitors and online advertising with very little effort or cost.  So I decided to put it to the test…

My first impression was the site looks professional and clean, with an attractive look and feel.  It is easy to read and understand.  Joining the site was easy and painless–they do offer 2 upgrade options but they are not required to gain the benefits.

The Members Area is very well laid out and intuitive–I could figure out what to do after only a few minutes and was able to get up and running in less than 5 minutes.  Inside the site, you create links and ads–the links you simply enter any URL links you use into the generator and it transforms them into “Perfect Traffic Storm” links.  You create ads for anything you want to promote using the Perfect Traffic Storm Ad Generator, which is very easy to use.  You can create as many links and as many ads as you like.  And they are organized in a logical way–links are displayed in the order you create them but also your 5 most recent links appear on the main page for quick reference.  Also, since the link generator is the tool you’ll use most, it is also right at the top of the main page when you login.  Very smart!

After you’ve created at least 1 link and 1 ad you can start to generate traffic.  Just use and promote the new Perfect Traffic Storm link instead of the original source link you had.  Every time the Perfect Traffic Storm link is clicked, the page loads followed by a cool slide-up ad window at the bottom.  It displays an ad PLUS an image with your affiliate link that goes back to Perfect Traffic Storm.  So if anyone clicks the Perfect Traffic Storm image they see the site, and if they signup they become your referral.  It’s a great viral feature because you can build referrals without even trying to just by using the site.

Now every time the ad window displays (your Perfect Traffic Storm links get clicked) you earn credits that get YOUR ad displayed in the ad windows when other members’ links get clicked.  So the more clicks, the more times your ads get displayed.

And this works virally–meaning as you make referrals into Perfect Traffic Storm (either by promoting it or just using it and visitors click the Perfect Traffic Storm image on the ad window to join) you also earn ad credits on THEIR link clicks.  And this works up to 5 levels deep.  So you can create a massive amount of free ad views and web traffic by referring others to Perfect Traffic Storm also.

I didn’t get to test the full effect of a big downline yet (I just got the tool) but I can tell you the rest of the site works exactly as stated–my links got clicked, I earned credits, and my ads got displayed.  Perfect Traffic Storm even tracked my results so I know how many clicks and how many ad displays.  That was an impressive unadvertised extra feature.

There is one more benefit and feature which might be the best of them all–downline emailing.  You can email your downline with offers, promotions, or whatever you like, and here is where Perfect Traffic Storm really shines.  They took time to make the emailing often enough that it’s valuable as a user, but no so often that it’s a burden to your downline.  But the best part about this feature (and actually the credit earning too) is that it tells you exactly how long until you can mail again.  Now THAT’s cool.

Overall I have to say I am impressed with Perfect Traffic Storm.  It is simple yet powerful, and delivers on its promises.  Highly recommended to anyone who wants to increase traffic and advertising.

In the movie “You’ve Got Mail”, the sub-plot aside from the love angle is that the heroine (played by Meg Ryan) was forced out of business when the big-time book store owner (played by Tom Hanks) moved into town.

Meg’s character owned a quaint little book store which she inherited from her mother. Although the prices of her books were a little steep, she makes up for it in service. She packs the books in a specialised bag, and she knows all of her customers by name.

Tom’s character, on the other hand, moved into town to build a branch of a big chain-book store which offered discounted prices and a huge building, as compared to Meg’s little bookshop on one corner of the town’s streets.

In the end, Meg was forced out of business because her customers went to Tom’s monstrous bookshop.  Nowadays, this situation will not hold true any more.

More and more small organisations are paving the way and giving big businesses a shot of their own medicine.

In the movie, the reason why Meg Ryan was forced out of business is because she cannot profit any more. Her prices are steep as compared to the other big business’ discounted rates.

Her only edge is that she gives personal service, she knows her customers by name and she has a very small staff, about 2 or 3 employees.

As a small organisation you may turn around and have these qualities as your edge to compete against the big sharks in business.

Here are some tips on how you can hold your own against a big business:

1. Small businesses have big competition.

This means that you need to know how to survive out there.

No matter what nature of business you have, it is better to learn about the competition so that you will be able to survive.

Here are some tips on how you can survive the big competition:

• Keep your business alive.

When it seems as if your cash flow is in a downward slope, keep a tight rein on your budget. Do not spend on unnecessary business purchases and always balance your books. If you are one to buy on impulse or if you are the type to listen to those who sweet-talk you into purchasing “necessary” items, control yourself.  Get a second and third opinion if possible, as these impulsive buys may lead to the end of your small organisation.

• Do not be afraid to seek professional help.

The fall of most small businesses start with decisions on problems which are not carefully analysed.  Although you think that you already have a contingency plan, make sure that you have foreseen the results of a certain business decision.  In the long run, it is better to seek professional help rather than embark on a plan that could start the downfall of your business.

• Keep your books straight.

The better option is for you to hire a professional outside accountant to figure the returns of your investment and handle the other financial aspects of your business.

• Take advantage of every free business counselling whenever available.

This does not just help widen your knowledge, but it will also give you an idea of how other businesses are ran by small-scale owners.

Time for me to get on my soapbox once again because if there is one thing I dislike the most in business it’s the fact that people get taken advantage of because they know no different.

What am I talking about here?

Well I’m about to show you a classic example.

Here in Australia I am sure many businesses receive letters or invoices in the mail about the registration of their URL.

Have you received anything like this?

The one below is for my wife’s business, but in this case it isn’t for the main URL, but another one that could be redirected.

Her main URL is http://SoyMagic.com.au (have a look if you are into Soy Candles)

The following image is an invoice for the domain http://SoyMagic.net.au, with complimentary email and redirection, oh and a FREE iPod Shuffle.

The price circled is $245.00 for two year registration.

Now in a lot of cases I am sure businesses go for this deal thinking they are getting a bargain, but let me poin out a few things here.

I know for a fact I can register a .net.au for no more than $25 for 2 years and that includes emails and in most cases a redirect is free.

So we could potentially be ripped off to the amount of $220

Now lets take into consideration the iPod Shuffle which is being included for FREE.

At most this would cost the supplier of this domain registration service $75

Here’s an image I grabbed from the Internet to demonstrate the price.

So here’s the final sums for you.

We as a business are out of pocket $220 MORE than the actual cost, don’t forget the iPod Shuffle was free and not included in the price.

The supplier is making a potential profit from each domain registered of at least $145 if not more.  $245 – $25 for domain registration – $75 for the iPod = $145.  Obviously I haven’t included printing and postage of the invoice but that would only be a few dollars at most

Even if the company was only making $100/offer they would only need 10 businesses to take it and they are $1000 in profit.

Now I know they might be clever, but I still feel like they are just taking advantage of those business owners who don’t know any better.

It’s also why I have joined a local Business Referral Group and am now in the process of putting together a seminar with other business experts so we can try and put a stop to these blatant rip off schemes.

SSB NEWS – SEPTEMBER 1, 2009

This issue will focus on the stock market because it is just past or close to a major turning point.

On Oct 25, 2007 I wrote regarding the US Stock Market, “I believe the US Stock Market could be near a top of historic proportion. My best guess is that stocks have finished going up for a few years and now they will go down for a few years. Another guess is that within 2 years the major indexes will be down 50% from where they are now.”

After that happened, in the April 1, 2009 issue it said:

“I’ll guess that the US stock market will go UP for a few months, maybe for a year or so. Yea, I know it sounds crazy but we are due for a rally that will last long enough for most people to be convinced that the worst is over. When I think it’s time I’ll issue another “Sell” signal which hopefully will work out as well as my last one.”

On June 1, 2009:

“Our Stock Market forecast remains the same – stocks are in a bear market rally that probably has further to go. After stocks peak the next phase of the decline should begin and take the markets much lower than the March lows.”

From last month’s August issue:

“US Stocks – Still a Bear Market correction. I expect a small sell-off the first week of August and then the final rally for this move. Stocks have been in an upward correction that started in March. We are closer to the end than the beginning. Following this upward correction the Bear Market in stocks should resume and continue for 3 to 7 years.”

And after that happened . . . . .

SELL STOCKS.

In THIS issue, right now I am issuing that Sell signal.

Get the heck out of the stock market.

Yes, it’s possible stocks could go 2% higher. It doesn’t much matter if they eventually go 90% lower. My guess is that the stock market will decline by 50% to 90% over the next 3 to 7 years.

THE MARKETS

US Stocks – Bear Market (upward) correction is likely over.  Sentiment indicators (whether investors and investment advisory services are bullish or bearish) are at extremes not seen since the last market top in 2007.  The rate of upward momentum had slowed which normally happens at tops.  And while some averages could go a few percentage points higher first if this isn’t “the” top, the downward risk (or potential if you are short) is severe.  We are in a once in 300 year financial market correction so it’s going to catch the vast majority of people by surprise.  Expect stocks to go down for a few years.

Here is a crazy wild guess for what might happen – Either major market averages are down 50% by 2012 and down 90% by 2016, or stock averages are down 90% by 2012.

US Dollar – Intermediate term trend is now up and should surprise most to the upside.

Interest Rates – Long term trend is up. Short term trend is down.

Precious Metals – Long term trend is up.  Short term trend at important juncture.  I’m turning more positive mainly because almost all gold timing newsletter writers are bearish according to Mark Hulbert who tracks those things.  If precious metals move up a bit more from here there might be a “flight to silver and gold safety” as the stock market falls and more bank failures make the news.

Real Estate – Should follow stock market down to much lower valuation levels. We are in the recovery right now.

The Economy – We now are at the point where the mainstream news media and official announcements are much more positive about the US economy.  For example, the Cash for Clunkers program, the government making a profit on some of their (our) bank loans, real estate prices going a little bit up in a few areas.  Remember I’ve been saying when this finally occurs “expect the opposite.”

So, expect the opposite.

I’m intentionally keeping this newsletter brief to stress the importance of the stock market timing signal.

The product catalog states, “Currently, all available silver bullion blanks are being allocated to the American Eagle Silver Bullion Coin Program, as the United States Mint is required by Public Law 99-61 to produce these coins ‘in quantities sufficient to meet public demand.”

Thus far this year, silver bullion coin sales total 14,899,500 compared to last year’s total sales of 19,583,500.

While gold and silver producers have repeatedly gone to government officials to get them to authorise an increase in the number of refineries which can produce the blanks and the facilities that can mint the coins, industry sources say they feel they have been stonewalled by mint officials who refuse to budge.

Among the U.S. manufacturers of blanks is Sunshine Minting in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Stern-Leach of Attleboro, Massachusetts.  Nearly all U.S. Mint gold coins at manufactured at West Point, New York at a remote site on military academy grounds.

U.S. Mint spokesman Michael White told Mineweb refiners are running 24-hours a day, seven days a week trying to meet demand for blanks.

Research and analysis on this initiative commenced at the Stanford Business School many years ago.

This foregoing view has been a pursuit through research and value analysis conclusions of banking sector participants. The belief that the Australian dollar is clearly undervalued, compared to the US dollar and certain other currencies, is now widely held and confirmed by the purchasing power parity theory in the long term. The pending revaluation of the AUD to parity with the USD in the free foreign exchange markets is gaining pace with a view to it occurring within a very short time.

To establish a model for the PCU one must observe the evolution of the European Currency Unit (ECU). Other regional currencies have been mooted in recent times, however the dissimilarity of their monetary and fiscal policies have not allowed them to develop. However, the development of the ECU has provided the opportunity for a more efficient trading environment based on a single currency because of the consonance of critical economical variables. It may be said that geographic proximity may be a factor in the development of trading relations, as it is clearly more advantageous to trade with neighbouring countries. This engenders closer political associations and fosters other relations beneficial for each country. In the case of Oceania other factors outweigh this variable.

However, from a regional perspective, a pecuniary link between Pacific countries might act as a conduit for political and/or economic accountability and cooperation. The PCU is a concept that would be very attractive to financiers, traders and as well governments.

The logistics necessary for the development of the PCU are to say the least, quite significant. A foremost consideration is the ideological differences and similarities among nations and in the case of Oceania these are fundamentally minimal. The ever increasing trade volumes within the Oceania region have created the need for a common currency or monetary instrument that will facilitate transactions and minimize exposure to exchange fluctuations.

The PCU would allow hedging of currency risk and act as a widely accepted currency for trading purposes and as well represent a benchmark. With the current GFC, nations whose currencies would be represented in the basket during these challenging times would seemingly be more co-operative. Such co-operation is more feasible when facing a common challenging world economic predicament.

Currency traders love the Aussie dollar so it is recommended to buy because it is mooted to rise to parity with the US dollar soon. Apparently the same goes for the NZ dollar.

You should also be thinking of what kind of contest you want to run. Be creative in choosing one. Make sure that your visitors will participate and enjoy the contest.

Maybe you want them to fill out a survey and in return, their names will be raffled for a prize.

You can also run the contest and ask for feedback about your site or ask them to create a poem or an ad related to the theme. This all depends on what your goals are.

Step 5: Set up the contest on your website

Now is the time to set up the contest on your site. You or your web designer needs to make a page, design a logo if necessary, and set up the page to suit your needs and tastes.

Again, be creative in choosing the proper layout. You have to include the list of sponsors, prizes, and the set of rules.

Step 6: Promoting your contest

You need to promote the contest so people know you’re there and are offering free prizes!

Think of the many ways in which you can list your contest on the different sites.

There are many sites on the Internet that will list your contest on their contest site in exchange for placing their banner/link on your contest page. Most are free, but require a link back to their site.

If you do not know how to do this or do not have the time, then hire a company to do it for you.

Step 7: Picking a winner

One easy way to pick a winner is through random selection. You can just pick an email. Ask a representative to do the selection.

Tried and true marketing techniques can build up your company and its product sales in a modest way. If it is time to take efforts to the next level, appealing to customers in a different way is a must. When campaigns reach out to people’s emotions, their inborn wiring or even their trust of certain symbols, the sky is often the limit.

Sorry, I haven’t written something here for a while, it’s because I’ve been really busy.

Busy building my offline business with my online knowledge.

I know I’ve told you this before, but if you want to try something a little different then I suggest you grab your copy of Easy Offline Cash, just like I did, read what Mark has to say, and put it into action.  Ever since I’ve really put what Mark says into action, and I emphasise really because I procrastinated on too many things for too long.

I’ve built a few sites for businesses lately, each one interesting in their own way.

Which kinda makes what I do even more interesting.

Just the other day I suggested an idea to a client, which was real basic stuff when it comes to online marketing, but to them it equalled another revenue stream they hadn’t even considered.

Pretty cool huh?

I get a real buzz out of things like that, and the income is a lot better than what I have ever made through my efforts online.

I had a recent client who, by the end of our two hour meeting, paid me a deposit towards building a web site.  That deposit basically equalled what I used to earn working a 38 hour week.  Same money, and so far I had only done 2 hours of work.

You’ll have to excuse me if I don’t mention dollar amounts here, I have to keep details about my business confidential.  I’m sure you understand.

Ok, so now I had a job ahead to build a website.  Challenge here was to get it up in a couple of days.  That’s from having no idea, to finished product live online.

There are two ways I could have done this.

1. Do all the work myself and spend a lot of my own valuable time on one project.
2. Contract it out to a trusted person so I can find more work.

Obviously I picked No.2.

Best thing about choosing number two is the fact I have a terrific bloke in the USA who builds sites for me and I don’t have to baby-sit him all the way.  When you find someone like this it’s a real pleasure to work together.  Funny thing is we are on different parts of the planet

The job ended up taking a little longer than planned, mainly because the client kept changing the content.  That’s fine, we’ll do anything to make the client happy with the final product.

BUT…

You have to make sure you don’t overdo it or you will chew into your profits.  It’s all about having a contract and making sure everyone agrees.  That contract can even be a handshake.  It’s how I do a lot of my business.

So, I ended up making more money than I use to in one month at my old J.O.B. and personallyI probably put a total of 8 hours work in myself.  My hourly rate on that job was above $200.

Over $200 per Hour!

Do remember though, this is a one off job so it not like I’m getting that all the time.  There have been times when I had no contracts so that money has to last, but I’m getting better at landing contracts to the dry spells will only get shorter.

Not bad for a home business I run from a desk in my sunroom.

It has been concluded that the time is now approaching for the creation of a Pacific Currency Unit (PCU) embracing the convergence of the four dollar currencies of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United States as a regional and perhaps reserve world currency.

Bit of a radical view some may say, but not so far out there that it’s not possible.

If you’re a member of my announcement list you most likely received about 10 emails from me a couple of days ago.

In one way this was Aweber’s doing, and in another way I could have prevented it IF I had of remembered one important thing.

You see, I’ve setup a Blog Broadcaster in Aweber so I don’t have to go in and write an email each time I write a new post here.  It usually works fine, and if you have been receiving me emails for any length of time you will have seen you only get one when I post something on my blog.  You certainly don’t get 10 in a row all delivered at the same time.

As one of my subscribers said in an email sent to me…. “Are you INSANE?!”

I’d like to think I’m not insane, but that might depend on who you speak to.

Here’s what happened, and the reason I am writing about it is to prevent the same thing happeneing IF you have an Aweber account as well.

A few weeks ago I held off paying my Aweber account because I am currently looking at other systems I can use which suit my purpose a little better.  Also, I’m trying to reduce some of my expenses associated with running an Internet Business.

So, as expected, Aweber put my account on hold, which meant none of my posts were being broadcast to you through an email.

Me being me I take a little longer than the average person to make a decision, so I decided to reinstate my Aweber account for another month while I choose the new service I will use in it’s place.  I’m not saying Aweber isn’t any good or expensive, it just doesn’t suit my needs at this time.

Once the payment was processed and Aweber put things back online the following happened.  I’ll let you know how to prevent this shortly.

As I mentioned before I have an automatic Blog Broadcast setup in Aweber to send you an email when I make a post.

What Aweber did was check my blog against it’s records, noticed that I have written about 10 posts since it last sent you an email, so Aweber went about creating 10 emails (one for each post) and then sent them out to you so you knew about them.

Basically Aweber was doing the job I have employed it to do, and being a program, it was following my explicit instructions.

Here’s what I should have done to prevent this unprofessional episode.

The Blog Broadcast feature in Aweber has the feature to AUTOMATICALLY send an email each time I write a post or MANUALLY send an email.  The second option gives you the chance to check emails created and make any adjustments before you MANUALLY send the email.

I should have changed this option to MANUAL, thus I could have deleted all but one email, made some edits to bring you up to date, and then sent it out.  I simply forgot about this until I saw the 10 emails in my inbox.

Imagine how I felt when I realised what had just happened

Very embarrassed and fearful that I could (and did) lose some subscribers.  I don’t blame them really because I might have done the same thing.

So I would like to apologise once again for my oversight and I hope you forgive my mistake.

There could be a couple more hickups in the near future when I move your details over to the new service I choose to take over Aweber, but I will be sure to warn you first so you know what’s going on.

One thing about being an Internet Business Owner and doing it all yourself, it can sometimes be hard yakka (an Aussie saying for hard work), and things can fall through the cracks.  Another reason I am trying to streamline and organise things.
