I’ve tried about 10 different alternatives so far and only MS pubCenter compares. I’d love for the Clickbank option to work. I don’t like aWeber either – I needed to port a list across from one I was running on my old server, but they wanted everyone to reconfirm their subscription! I can understand it, they don’t want their server used for spam, but I lost about 75% of my list that way. Ugh.

One tip to get your pages more exposure, other than the index, is to make a site map page, and guess what, get a bunch of links to your site map, and then the juice will flow all so good There are many wordpress plugins to do this and if you are a Drupal user there are dozens of modules that will let you make a sitemap that updates itself automatically everytime you make a new post or page.

Intl traffic in this case is trash. In my case I spent more then minute to understand that your blog isn’t doorway. I wont recommend to use this plugin, the better way to attract intl visitors is to create special category for multilanguage topics.

I also write a newsletter about silver so I highly suggest as well that people start investing in silver. silver is money. It has intrinsic value not found in paper money. The historical value of silver to gold is 10:1. Right now, it’s at 66:1 due to manipulation and the printing of paper money. But once the paper money devalues back to it’s intrinsic value of zero, silver and gold will be our money again. silver will go back to its historical value and its price will shoot up.

silver has for the most part always played second fiddle to gold. This goes back 3,000 to 4,000 years ago when gold was always used in temple decoration, etc. I personally collect silver dollars, more specifically, Morgan dollars, because of their interesting American history, and they are more affordable than gold. I can recall many years ago when those two brothers in Texas had bought so much silver & tried to corner the market. Unfortunately silver went down quite a bit & not sure what ever became of them.

I completely agree that Adsense take a big chunk of the action however if used as part of a balanced portfolio of products then it can work well. I still firmly believe that other affiliate programmes work much better than PPC

Hi John. I do the same when I travel overseas and also have a tin full of coins. I find them interesting and fun to look at, especially with young children.

Adsense can still generate an income, but I suggest you use many other methods as well and not just rely on Adsense.

I see you are interested in global warming and everything else that comes with it. I would just like to share my disappointment at the outcome of the Copenhagen climate council. The summit was supposed to halt temperature rise by cutting greenhouse gases. But after two weeks of negotiating it ended in a weak political accord that does not force any country to reduce emissions and has no legal standing anyway. As a result the world is “one step closer to a humanitarian crisis”, according to the Royal Society. It looks like it is every man for themselves but if your far away neighbors don't do anything to halt it, what is the point. Here in Scotland, Scottish Hydro has shown the way forward with supplying clean hydro electric power from sources like, hydro damns and wind turbine farms but is it all in vein? It could well be.

I had a similar story with my dad who gave me some limited edition coins when I was young. I still have them somewhere…not that I get them out very often.
With my travels around the world and each time I return home with my wallet full of foreign coins, I now have these stored in quite a few jars. Some get repatriated but most are for keeps! Also a good collection of older ones no longer in circulation I’ve found here and there.

I have been using “Ad Manager” for wordpress. It can handle both AdSense and also banner ads. I do like how it works. this is free and one of the more popular WP plugins for putting up any type of add.

Yeah, is good way to make money since it can give more money per sale. but be careful I read in some blogs, google can slap back affiliate marketer.

My opinion for review site, I don’t really trust that people doing good review at affiliate program, sometimes I notice that people only copy the salesletter.

I haven’t yet created a blog that’s ‘my castle’ yet, not sure what I want my castle to be. I have keyword targeted blogs using blogger being a google product, they get far better page rank, even starting from scratch. Adsense might be making a come back, especially if you can rank well in markets with high CPC.

Our Prime Minister (NZ) didn’t believe there would be a deal at Copenhagen.

However the real issues (being human induced climate change) has been lost by the carbon credits/carbon tax debate that has confused almost everyone involved, probably including the bloke that dreamt it up!
I doubt there will ever be a binding consensus on this issue, the chinese will keep building a new coal fired power station each week and encouraging more of its people to buy cars, the amazon will still be chopped down and burnt and so on.

The real answer in this lies not in a tax, but stemming the growth of the human population. This is where democracy shows some of its biggest flaws…because no politician will put their head up and promote it. Do I know the answer? Of course not!

It depends who you are and what do you want to achieve. Being a ghost sometimes is more appropriate than a Guru. But if you need to be more visible – be visible.
And there is also a group of people that just don’t create themselves for the web. They are just who they are in real life. In their case it is something else about being visible or not, because they just are.

Auto video niche sites are probably best for entertainment-type videos, where an inaccurately selected video is not likely to make your visitor angry.

For instructional how-to videos and informational videos, automatic content generators like this are not so good because I have seen more and more videos which are wrongly/poorly tagged at the source (youtube). Having multiple wrong videos on your niche site would make you look incompetent and unprofessional (and may eventually lead to a google penalty especially if you monetize the site).

Note that I’m not slamming this product in particular. It’s just that I’ve had less than stellar experiences with other automatic content generation products (mainly for articles) and also because I’ve had trouble finding relevant videos on YouTube for my own (non-IM) research.

That’s not to say this approach won’t work. However, you need to test it out based on your niche.

Not too long ago I also read an article where it stated that in the near future silver might be more expensive than gold. The writer of that article had similar points as this post. He said the demand for silver was high, mostly due to electronics and related products, while the supply for it is low.

What are the implications? Aren’t our money, US dollars for example, backed by gold reserves?

I’ve always thought of “Think and Grow Rich” as exactly that. It’s about what you think.. It’s very easy to get caught up in the book, which does have great suggestions on how to go about things, but I’ve always told my friends, all you need to know is in the title. But, I know I know, when you read it is when it makes more sense.

I haven’t jumped on the “Secret” bandwagon (yet), as I believe it’s preparing yourself for when opportunities that arrive and also making opportunities arrive. Yes, it’s disgraceful what these people do. They are taking advantage of the fact that most business owners are overly busy and just don’t have the time to look into different aspects of website creation.

They also exploit the fact that many people are still a bit daunted by the net and how it works.

For instance a friend in the USA decided to start a drop-shipping site. He bought a subscription to some biz guru’s webinar course for over a grand. But he’d learned next to nothing at the end. I had to explain to him by Skype the importance of link building and basic SEO!

The ironic thing is that internet marketing can be so cheap – often free – if you have time to learn.

I know many people who have fallen for this scam, and I myself have received a number of the same letters. They really are made out to look like Invoices and I have had now around 3-4 phone calls from customers of mine saying “why do I have to pay this Invoice?”, so it really is tricking people.

I checked into it once and apparently because it says “Invitation to register” somewhere on the form, they can get away with it.

Ian, the same thing happens in Canada. These companies send out notices saying your domain is about to expire and please pay $35. But .ca domains usually only cost $10 to $12 dollars. I can’t see how they make money with the postage charges but they must.

This is low-balling. They throw in that free iPod to sweeten the deal to hide the fact that they are overcharging for the domain. Good thing you know your thing thus saving a lot of money in the process. Filing a complain might stop the said company from pulling same dirty tactics on other people. There’s gotta be a legislation about overpricing right? Even on domains.

Wow – thats a real rip off! Its just so easy for people to be taken advantage of regarding internet services. When i was starting out a few years back I paid someone about $200 to send traffic to my website…it was stupid but I knew no better. As soon as I made the payment all communication with the vendor ceased – obviously I never got the traffic. I was a raw newbie and I got taken advantage of.

For making quick posts on your blog(s) I can fully recommend using ScribeFire.

Simple to use and easy to switch between blogs.

Also a good tool to use if you are in a business like mine where you install blogs for businesses and have to regularly make posts for them. I usually put aside one day a week to do posting and get it all done easily just by swapping from one blog to another without having to log into each one the long way.

Yes there are literally thousands, if not 10’s of thousands of ways to make money using the Internet, or Internet Marketing to be more correct.

It amazes me how many opportunities there are online to make some $$, even in a “down” economy. Lucky for most of us, average citizens cannot comprehend the power of the Internet.

The ones like most are zemanta’s related post plugin, I also like ‘nofollow case by case’ where I can choose not to give dofollow link to ‘bad’ sites “Redirection” is my favorite plugin is often the first one that I install. Wordpress uses 302 redirects by default and most webmasters don’t even notice that. I switch to 301 redirect between www and non-www URLs as soon as I make a new blog.

I’d say the number one plugin to have is All in one SEO plug in (or any SEO type plug in). Its a great way to build search traffic when you add the right info for each post.

Well, I have installed this pluging “openinviter for wordpress” and since the begining it was giving me issues, couldnt get into Admin Panel in wordpress. I have deltete de folder from that pluging because i couldnt even deactivate to uninstall it and now the blog is unaccesible. How did you fix that issue?

Ian, thats a pretty good reception for anyone new to your blog. Readers do like dofollow blogs if they are getting a link back to their site and they will contribute more regularly which overall is a very nice thing for a blog. I know with dofollow there’s a high chance of spam and it’s time-consuming to take out spam from legitimate comments so I appreciate your efforts for it as well. I went to Mauritius on my honeymoon in November 2007 and absolutely loved it.

We stayed at the Movenpick Hotel in the South of the Island. When we arrived at the airport we were picked up by someone from the hotel who drove us back. This was a nice touch by the hotel and I think that pretty much all of them on the island offer this service. The drive was interesting, the island produces a lot of sugar cane so most of the fields you could see were full of sugar. We drove through quite a few shanty towns and it was quite sad to see how they were living but as I experienced later, the locals love their life and are very very happy compared to people from the West who complain when they can’t get their hands on the latest designer bags.

The hotel was gorgeous, set right on the beach and our room overlooked the ocean. The hotel didn’t accept tips so the staff were genuinely nice. The architecture of the hotel was lovely, lots of open spaces, benches to lounge on and watch the ocean and always someone on hand to bring you a drink etc.

The only really good article re-writing I have come across it finding a real person that will do it for you at a price you think is fair.

I did find someone once that was doing a good job at a reasonable price, but then he got busy with other things and making more money.

I haven’t bothered looking again just yet because I am also now concentrating on another project.

IMHO, there really isn’t a program out there that can do the job, only a human can.

A nice little intro the the world of SEO. I think that once you “get it”, SEO becomes quite easy. There is alot of false info out there in regards to SEO though, which I guess baffles most newbies as to what info they should take heed of, and which to ignore. It happened to me.

All that’s really needed is to have great content, and then links; using a variety of methods from a variety of sources over time.

Is there anyway to use OIO Publisher for other than wordpress. I don’t use Wordpress for my site. I have article directory.

Great stuff shared, I know about this plugin on wordpress which allows dofollow comments, actually it is pretty good and those who deliberately keep their blogs dofollow and are part of U Follow I Comment movement keep their blogs heavily moderated, so it encourages positive and constructive comments. You’re right about not using images to stuff hidden content on the page. I did that when I first started making webpages and blogs, and at first I ranked well for the alt tags keywords, but then the search engines slapped those sites badly. Better to have a simple accurate description.

I seriously doubt that this currency will come into existence. In the USA, there is already legislation to bring in the Amero, which will combine the Canadian Dollar, US Dollar, and Mexican currency into one.

Unfortunately, almost every country’s currency is controlled by a private banking system with fiat money (not backed by gold or anything), which causes the booms and busts. It just dilutes our money and increases the divide between the rich and poor.

If you ask me, any new currency that ‘blends’ countries together is just a BAD idea. Let’s go back to a standard where money was redeemable by some precious metal or something that can’t be created out of thin air.

Just my two cents (USD) (which was equivalent to $1.00 USD back before the Federal Reserve in the USA took over in 1913).

Has anyone come across good article re-writing software. I am a programmer and thinking of writing something that will smartly generate unique content from existing content. (I dont wanna re-invent the wheel if something similar already exists tho) I guess the trick would be in getting the output to make sense. A plain synonom replace results in some bad cases of output which don’t make much sense.

OIOpublisher seems too good, managing all the ad space without cluttering the website and moreover attracting and making more spaces for new ads, its great!moreover this one plugin can be used for several other sites provided we own them.The best part is that it shows our own default ad rather than empty spaces which may look awkward. Contests are great ideas for getting traffic but beware of what you are giving away at first. I have heard crazy stories of bloggers giving away iPods but not enough people really find out about it and they end up getting little traffic for a big investment.

I have a hard time believing that this will ever be the case but if it is then this is a strong sign to the fact that the US economy is f***** and that the US government will need to go to extremes to save what can be saved and by doing so hopefully avoid going totally bankrupt.

The reason I doubt this is that if the other governments knows just a little bit about economics they wouldn’t want to partner with the US as that could very easily bring their own economy towards bankruptcy.

As you say, emotions are very important in marketing.

I think a lot of companies are using this technique now by marketing their products as being environmentally friendly. This makes people feel good about what they’re buying.

It’s been working well for a while. However, I think the effect is waning, since there are just so many companies doing this. Also, people are becoming skeptical about some green theories, such as global warming. So there’s not the same “warm inner glow” about the subject that there used to be.

Australian and New Zealand economy is better compare to other nation nowadays but if you wish to invest with their currency you need to study how it goes, Their currency may rise like the U.S. dollar value and if this happen that will be a big problem in terms of U.S dollar. investing in the australian or new zealand dollar’s imply that they have not been as affected by the global recession, but that isn’t true. I think that Australia is the next big economy to struggle and if anything it would be the worst time to invest. Arguably the best time to invest in the dollar is now because i think the worst has passed for the US.
