Towards the end of last year I decided to take my online knowledge and show the offline business owners how they can still succeed in these troubled times by using some marketing methods they might never have seen before.  To do this I started doing a lot of research of products already available that I could use to help me achieve my goal.

I quickly came to realise that we really don’t have to struggle to make money online when offline brick and mortar business owners would be thrilled to pay us good money right now for our skill and expertise…

Marketing pioneer Andrew Cavanagh has been keeping quiet about this but he’s finally let the cat out of the bag.

More traffic to your site from niche articles

Filed Under (Article Marketing, Make Money Blogging, Niche News) by Ian Richardson on 11-01-2009

How do we generate targeted traffic to our website?

Speaking from experience, and using a tool I am testing to organise my efforts when using blogs for niche marketing, it is without a doubt a fact that articles and the correct marketing of said articles WILL generate more traffic.

Over the years internet marketers have used a variety of way to drive targeted traffic to their websites. Many have employed the use of pay per click, email marketing campaigns, ezines and search engine optimization.

Though all of the methods mentioned above are effective, the one that has stood the test of time and produced remarkable results has been article marketing. Submission of articles ranging from 400-600 words has produced amazing results.

Yellow Pages Is Dying FAST

Filed Under (Make Money Blogging, Niche News) by Ian Richardson on 18-09-2008

I don’t know if you have noticed this yourself, but when I want to find a business I almost ALWAYS use my computer and search online for what I need.

I really didn’t think about it until recently when I became involved with a project being released in the coming months which focuses on helping local businesses get listed in Google plus will give people a new way to find things in their local area. It’s really hard to explain in any way that you might fully understand and I am obligated not to say too much as well due to a non-disclosure agreement I signed, but suffice to say you will be the first to know when I can let the cat out of the bag.

By the way, my partner and I run a small Soy Candle business here in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales called Soy Magic and I recently did some work to get our web site listed in No1. spot in Google for local searches (yes you read that correctly, No1. in Google). If you want to see proof simply open Google Search and type in Soy Katoomba and you should see a map and details about our business right at the top.

This leads me to the main reason for why I am writing today. I’ve been excited about letting you in on a new package which is being released today because I’m confident if you grab it and use what is taught inside you can EASILY help your local businesses have an identity on the Internet and also give them better search results in Google, and when you do this for them they are bound to get more business from people searching for their services on the Internet instead of in the Yellow Pages.

Turn Your Passion into Profits: Arts, Crafts and Hobbies

Filed Under (Make Money Blogging, Niche News) by Ian Richardson on 20-07-2008

Do you have a collection of picture post cards that you’d like to trade and sell? How about needlework designs and supplies that you can offer to people? Do you make craft goods that you sell on the side? Are you an expert at ice fishing? You can turn all of these pursuits into online businesses that not only pay for your hobby’s expenses, but also can actually replace a full time income from a regular job. There’s no guarantee you can do so, but if you never try, there’s a 100% guarantee you’ll never know!

One of the fastest growing home business opportunities on the Internet is taking a hobby and turning it into a business. With the low cost of making and hosting a Web site, just about any hobbyist, craftsperson or collector can enter a marketplace that reaches around the world! Best of all, if you target the right niche, you’ll attract buyers ready to spend money on your goods without a great deal of “hard selling”.

Take the time to search around online and find other people doing what you want to do. Use your common sense and figure out if these folks are just sharing information, or making a profit from their pursuit. You’ll want to base your business on those who are selling successfully. Don’t try and reinvent the wheel and NEVER try to sell something that isn’t already selling. You may have a great product, but if people aren’t already buying something like it, you may never make a sale yourself!

Choosing Your Internet Niche

Filed Under (Make Money Blogging, Niche News) by Ian Richardson on 09-07-2008

Internet marketing has changed tremendously over the years and it is bound to change in 2008 as well. Beginning Internet marketers often wonder what the right niche is for them. It is important to understand the difference between a niche and a sub-niche. A niche can be dogs whereas a sub-niche could be dog food, dog medicine, and so forth. Once you understand how many categories a niche can have, you can be better prepared to choose a sub-niche that you can market to your target audience.

It is important to realise, in most cases anyway, that the niche you choose has probably already been done dozens of times unless it is something truly new. That’s why specialising in a sub-niche is so important but even then you must have something different to offer visitors to your site. For example, if the niche you choose is dogs and your sub-niche is a certain breed of dog, what can you offer your visitors that other sites don’t? Think about all the issues that surround that particular breed of dog and you might hit on something that few sites will have information about.

One of the most common questions that beginning Internet marketers ask is, “how do I know a niche or sub-niche is right for me?” This is a question I get asked over and over again. The easiest answer is do what you like. In other words, if you love dogs and they are your passion than by all means do that. If you love a certain subject and are passionate about it you are more likely to stick with it through the various struggles every Internet marketer encounters. Not only that, but your passion will show in your work and you will be far more successful than if you were to choose a niche about something for which you have no personal feelings. It’s just the way it works. Often, when people have a hard time finding a niche they really like, it is because they have overlooked what it is they are already passionate about. They simply don’t realise they already have a marketable idea. This is understandable so the easiest way to remedy that problem is to do a keyword search of the niche you’re already interested in. Maybe it is your hobby or a cause that you care about and you just haven’t thought about it in terms of a marketable idea before.

Quick Update

Filed Under (Make Money Blogging, Niche News, Website) by Ian Richardson on 13-06-2008

It’s been a while since I’ve written something here, mainly due to the fact I have been setting up some new sites for testing (results will be posted here when ready). Basically I am setting up what’s known as a Silo Site Structure involving LSI, and the other is a straight landing page/lead generator/affiliate marketing site (with a difference).

Back to a Silo Site Structure and LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing). Rather than me go into explaining what it’s all about and how it can generate income from a number of areas, I’ll let you have this free report which explains it a lot better than I could, plus it saves me from writing it all here :)

Right click on the image of the report and select Save As to save the ZIP file containing the report.

How To Choose Your Specific Niche for a Successful Internet Business

Filed Under (Make Money Blogging, Niche News) by Ian Richardson on 05-05-2008

Over the years, running an Internet Business has seen many changes and these changes are bound to happen even more in 2008. Those of you who are starting your Internet Business are probably wondering what the right niche is for you. Before you get cracking it’s crucial to understand the difference between a niche and a sub-niche. Golf may be the niche and so illustrations of sub-niche subjects may be golf swing, golf clubs, and so forth. After you’ve explored the other categories in any given niche, you’ll then be able to distinguish your target market, therefore arriving at your choice of a sub-niche a great deal simpler than it seems.

It’s crucial to understand, in most cases anyway, that the niche you select has likely already been done heaps of times, unless it’s something genuinely new. That’s how come specialising in a sub-niche is so crucial, but even then you should have something unique to provide visitors to your web site. For instance, if the niche you select is horses and your sub-niche is a particular breed of horse, what could you provide your visitors that other web sites don’t? Consider all the subjects that encompass that special breed of horse and you may arrive at on something that fewer web sites will have information about.

One of the more common enquiries starting Internet marketers ask me is,”How am I supposed to recognise a niche or sub-niche which is right for me?” I can’t recall the number of times I have been asked this question. The best advise I can offer here is do what you enjoy. Put differently, if you enjoy horses and they’re your passion then by all means do a web site or membership on horses. Whenever you enjoy a certain topic and are passionate about it you’re more than likely to stick to it through the different battles all Internet Business owners face. Not just that, but your passion will appear in your online exploits and you’ll be far more prosperous than if you were to pick out a niche on something for which you’ve no individual opinions. It’s just the way it works. Frequently, when folks experience a difficult time determining a niche they genuinely enjoy, it’s because they’ve missed what it is they’re already enthusiastic about. They just don’t understand they already own an in demand idea. This is understandable, and so the most effortless way to rectify that situation is to do a keyword search on the niche you’re already interested in. It’s quite possibly your spare-time activity, or a campaign that you care about, and you simply haven’t considered it in terms of an in demand idea before this.
